Hi Everyone! It's time to announce a new line from Holistica Botanicals. I have added a line of teas and products to support the perinatal period and baby. For those of you who are not familiar with that term, perinatal means the period surrounding pregnancy (before, during and after). There is much to know when considering this realm and a lot of research had to happen to open this line. I referred to friends of mine who are midwives, herbalist resources and aromatherapy resources to give you all great products that you can count on! This line includes organic and wildcrafted loose leaf teas starting with a Fertility boosting tea to the Pregnancy tea, Stomach ease, Postpartum and More milk teas. 

These are blended for their purpose as well as flavor. Wildcrafted Red Raspberry Leaf is used instead of Organic for good reason. Its properties for pregnancy and postpartum are most beneficial from the wild picked leaves rather than organically farm grown. Wildcrafted means: wild sourced and grown which in turn is completely natural and free of chemicals and pesticides. They are not called organic as that certification requires paperwork, certain farm practices and more which do not apply to the wild.

For the body products I have a belly butter and nipple balm. These are luscious blends of organic butters, oils, herbs and essential oils safe for pregnancy. There will also be more aromatherapy products coming for labor as well as postpartum. 

My Herbal Sitz Bath is an incredible blend of herbs and epsom salt to promote healing after birth. This is available in two sizes. Momma to Be and Postpartum Gift Boxes are now available as well. These make great baby shower gifts or are a great way to stock up for your own pregnancy and baby to be. Check them out!

Where did Aromatherapy even begin? The use of plants for human benefit goes way way back. “…… "There is virtually no people known to anthropology – however remote, isolated, or primitive – in which some form of doctoring with plants was not practiced.” Barbara Griggs, The Green Pharmacy Hmm interesting. In our country we seem to downplay nature's abilities. But why? There are written records dating back to the Sumerians at least 5000 years ago, Mesopotamian civilizations dating to the second millennium B.C., and  Egyptians dating to around 3000 B.C. Ancient India was particularly active in medicinal plant recording 290 species. Not to mention the Chinese who we can date back to using plants for medicine to 3000 B.C.
